I realized I can adjust letter spacing of the text using SVG source editor, but It only appears in the rich text editor and doesn't actually apply to the text in canvas when I save it.
Is that simply because Krita doesn't officially support it? Or does it mean I'll be able to adjust letter spacing by editing SVG source in the final build? I'm just curious. (But it'll be great to be able to do that.) |

Hm... letter-spacing just works fine here, I managed to take the screenshots for the manual with adjusting it in the svg source:
https://docs.krita.org/Text_Tool#Word-s ... nd_Kerning However, I did also submit some fixes that affected the conversion of these to the rich text editor and back, so it might be that while the choices you made looked right in the rich text editor they were interpreted differently by the svg text renderer. They'll be in the next nightly build for windows, or you can build them yourself from the source. |

So it actually (officially) supports it? OMG I thought It was not gonna be possible to adjust letter spacing of the text in 4.0. I'll try the build. Thanks. |

Yes, what happened was that we weren't sure we'd be able to get the feature to show up in the rich text editor, so we didn't add a slider. But then, during the first week of January we changed the way how we got our information from/to the rich text editor, which means it is possible now. However, because on the 31st string freeze happened, we should avoid adding new text, because otherwise our poor UI translators get really confused, so we cannot add a slider for it right now. |
