When I scroll back and forth on my video timeline with animation curves active, the opacity on the 2 layers I have fades in and out smoothly (you can see, in the GIF, the motion on the right side with the opacity bar when I scroll through the frames)
BUT when I press play and all the frames cache, at least one of the layers blink and the curves don't function right (the same opacity bar on the right is still and stuck at 5% when playing and when I scroll through the frames shortly after playing) The temporary fix for scrolling through frames is to turn the visibility for the selected layer off and back on again (which I did near the end of the GIF) Is this a bug or is there a fix? gif of problem (tried embedding this but it's really long): https://imgur.com/a/VBgAqJp P.S. Are the animation curves a new feature that was added recently? |

It looks like another bug report is needed. (The animation opacity keyframes and curves have been in krita for a long time as far as I know.)
Does the animation render out ok? I've found that when played in krita, the animation transitions are very 'rough' but are as designed when rendered out. I can confirm that this also happens with the 4.1.7 appimage and the 4.2.0 pre-alpha 28-Dec build appimage. When manually scrolling after animation play, the layer opacity display is stuck at whatever the frame value was for the last manually selected frame. This can be 'freed up' by turning layer visibility off then on again, as you noted. I also get a 'total vanishment' crash after a few cycles of manual scrolling then layer off/on to free it up then Play again. |

Did you send in the report or do I still need to? |

I suggest that you do it since you first found it, then I'll add my comments for what I've seen. Please reply here with a link to the bug when it's been reported.
