Greetings,
I started using krita to make RPG maps, so I'm using layers, group layers and effects. When I start a new map, all is well at first, but after a while, at one point, something seems to be affecting krita so much that the cpu will reach 100% for 5-8 minutes on every modification/addition I try to make. The image is not complex as is so I'm not sure why krita is struggling so much on redraw. I checked the manual and the faq and made sure everything is turned on(opengl) and setting tuned for the system it runs on. Krita is allowed to use use 8Gb of memory and 4 cpu core The pc is a brand new XPS tower with i5-8400 - 6 real core - 16Gb RAM -nvidia gtx 1050 ti Krita Version: 4.1.7 Qt Version (compiled): 5.9.3 Version (loaded): 5.9.3 OS Information Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-llp64 Build CPU: x86_64 CPU: x86_64 Kernel Type: winnt Kernel Version: 10.0.17763 Pretty Productname: Windows 10 (10.0) Product Type: windows Product Version: 10 OpenGL Info **OpenGL not initialized** Image size is 2.1 Gb 4500*6300 300dpi 8bit channel Around 10 layers, 2 group layers Are there any other logs I should supply(or simply can look into) to help pinpoint the problem? |

So I take it this behavior is "normal"?

No, it's not normal, but it's also not possible to diagnose things like this at a distance. I've seen so many ways windows sytems do weird stuff, even if there aren't things involved like sandboxie or total defender or other wierd security software. Heck, we've had one instance where it turned out that Spotify was fighting Krita... You might also be using some layer styles that are slowing Krita down; best disable those and only re-enable them when done painting. Or something else altogether may be going on.
(As for why I didn't answer before: since last Sunday, I've spent most of my time in bed.) |
