Krita's brush rendering seems to be very crispy.

Is that right way to call this? 'Brush Rendering'? I have no idea what's the word that devs use.
But anyway,

Compared to the other applications krita seems to have very sharp and crispy brush strokes. Especially when it's thin or small.

(All in around 400% view)

And I don't think that's always a good thing. :/ It looks too pixelated in a way and I think it's might affecting the blending also.

Sorry if this is intentional, but I want it to (be able to) be smoother as the other painting applications.
Or am I missing something? Is their a way to 'turn off' this?

Thanks. :)

Try the latest nightly builds (https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Krit ... ows_Build/), we made some changes to the flow parameter that make strokes softer. Apart from that, investigate the brush editor with its myriadd options of brush engines, brush parameters and brush tips.

I'm aware of the flow change. This is not about that. If it's not just my PC you should be able to see the difference between krita and the other applications especially on small-sized brushes. krita tends to give more stair-like edges here and there as if it's not antialiased.

But again, it might be just my PC. I wouldn't know. And maybe that's an intentional feature.

This is something that can be caused by the type of autobrush you use. That one in particular happens when you combine 'soft brush' with 'anti-aliasing', I would recommend using 'default brush' with 'anti-aliasing'.
