I am using Krita 4.2.8 on Windows 10.
I have recently installed Krita, but it just doesn't boot up. When I try to launch krita.exe it loads for a few seconds, but nothing pops up. Sometimes it does work and the program works normally, but I have no idea why it does so. I tried deleting files in .roaming and it had no effect. Rebooting the system or reinstalling didn't help either. |

The settings are in %LOCALAPPDATA%, not in %APPDATA%, so you should probably try to remove those: kritarc and kritadisplayrc. There might also be a kritacrash.log that could give information on what's going on.

I deleted kritarc, but it didn't do anything. kritadisplayayrc and kritacrash.log are absent. |

There isn'ta whole lot we can do after that; it might be possible to get some log of what happens inside Krita using debugview (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysint ... /debugview) -- start debugview, then start Krita, then check which debug output was captured.
You might want to check whether you can update your display drivers. |

Okay, that log has no output relating to Krita, even
I'm not sure what to suggest, maybe use an older version of Krita that defaults to the CPU based canvas, like 4.2.0, and then check whether the newer version will run with the CPU canvas.

I have solved the problem, which was... my tablet's drivers? Not sure how they messed up even launching the software, but after I updated them everything worked fine.
Thanks for the support, and sorry for all the confusion. Whoops
