It would be helpful if Krita could autodetect the current monitor profile rather than have to set it manually.
With professional photographic and video monitors the current Windows ICC Profile is changed automatically when desired monitor gamut is selected. Some calibration systems also embed the date of the calibration in the ICC profile file name. Some workflows alternate between office work and programming, photo-editing, graphics design and video work, requiring frequent switches to various gamut profiles (sRGB, BT.709, BT.2020, BT.2100 PQ, Native, etc). Monitor controller software takes care of this by providing a menu in the taskbar notification tray, but it cannot be scripted to change settings for individual programs. So, every time the monitor gamut is changed to meet the needs of the current task, or the monitor is re-calibrated, the path to the monitor ICC profile changes and this currently requires manual intervention to remedy. |
