Hi guys! I'm working on a proposal of start page. What do you think? I changed the text links to big icons emphasizing the 3 main actions. The "New" icon is in ":hover" state. I made a collage with bills from different countries as a background.

Nice, I like it. Do you think that the financial summary (the start page when a file is open) can be adapted to use the same style? I really like this proposal so I'm for adopting it.

Just want to add that I really like the symbolism of line which goes up between the y and the M and then again on the icons (new/open/help). We should definitely keep that.

I like it, too. I don't want to start a clutter by adding too many icons, but my preference would be for the Open button icon to be Open Recent, which I use mainly. If there are no recent files, then it would default to Open.

Wow! I really like it!
The bills on the right look good. I dunno if I'm in for the round icons, but I like the line accross them (and those are probably from the new icon set?) Allan, the Start page only opens by default on first run, so it makes sense that it is Open, and not Open recent.

This design is outstanding. Clean, modern, and classy. Well done. |

I'm glad you liked it! I'll try something for the financial summary page!
I have a question about fonts. I'm using Sawasdee which is a free font and is available on Ubuntu repositories. It's okay to use it or I must stick with KDE default fonts? Can I use any font that is available in the software center (or even better, in fontsquirrel.com)? I'm concerned about software dependencies and licensing if you'll eventually use it. |

As long as it's free, and easily available, I don't think that's a problem.
You may want to try Oxygen font, which was created specifically for KDE, just as a test.

I almost woke up my wife just to see this beauty (it's 2am here). I really like it. I have no freaking idea how we can do it in HTML, but we will find a way, promise.

Wow, I love it. I'm sure that it can be done in html. I really don't have any more suggestions, it seems complete.

Sorry to wake you up, guys!
I had made another version in which the summary is formatted as a page. I'm not really sure, but I prefer this version for now. When we get a final version I'll help you to implement it, don't worry! |

This really looks cool. I watched it after my first coffee and am therefore somewhat awake Keep going. I am not afraid about implementation. CSS should help us.

About the icon, one of our users commented it was a little unbalanced, with too much weight on the right side. Having the gear on the left side would probably help it balance again. What do you think?

I like the first sample better, not the one with the formatted page.
