I've added the monochromatic user folders and some more of the user folders. The GItHub repo is up to date as well.

Brilliant Uri! This is something I've been dreaming about for a very very long time. :)

Awesome! The only icon that I couldn't recognize well was that for templates, but that's really a tough one and I don't know if it's even possible to create an easily recognizable icon for that. All the others are spot-on!

I'm thinking of doing a grid like icon, though not sure how good will that look in comparison to the others.

How about a compass, similar to Faenza?

Also, I'm curious about how the monochrome icons in the sidebar work - are the 16x16 icons for Places simply monochrome? So larger icons in the sidebar would not be monochrome? Would the icons in e.g. Dolphin become monochrome if they are shrunk to 16x16?

Because Faenza, and OSX. I'd go with the rulers instead but I made another and pushed to the GitHub repository already.

Currently only the user folders and the regular folder icon are 16px. Icons larger than 22px would not be monochrome. So only icons in 16px and 22px are monochrome the rest are fully colored.

I've changed the icon for templates, now it's reminiscent of those that used rulers and/or the OSX/Faenza compass without directly being that.

I'll be busy with some Nitrux stuff, so no new icons for Plasma Next for at least this week.

Polygon art based icon for Dolphin, trying not to do a square icon.

OMG! That is soooo damn pretty! The illustrator in me LOVE it!

The design fool in me is skeptical of the the set outer shape (circle)...

As part of my HIG integration activities today, I just got done updating the Icon design guidelines based on the discussions here so far and taking care to preserve the existing guidelines. So there's nothing here that should alter our trajectory, but I wanted to share it in case anyone interested.

http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usabil ... IconDesign

Still finishing up the other areas of HIG integration but till then, hope this helps!

Thanks :D

Yeah, I'm not liking enough, I'll try a different approach but I think it's going to be too much of a radical change.

Another take on the Dolphin icon. Taking into account the polygon art kind of elements here too.
