Do you have any cool idea for the pointing hand cursor? I just realised that current one ( http://wstaw.org/m/2014/03/14/pointer_36.png ) is very much like in the windows 8.

For the pointing hand how about something like below? It keeps it in the same slanting style as the normal pointer then.



edit: hmm, just realised this is a left hand, and usually the hand icons are right handed. Would it make a difference though do you think?

I also considered hand in some angle but it would only works on HiDPI displays.

Just an idea i came by, nothing special



KDE sounds very squary or sharp to me, thats why the straight sharp design
the colored ones are an idea of the cursos following the theme base color
i dont know, just crazy ideas

Guess you gonna have to do some tweaking first, but there you have it

I had to make it shorter to not be so huge when compared with other cursors but it still looks very good.

Could you find out if there is a way to create cursors that Inkscape will use?

there is no way to do it. Inkscape does not care about the standard cursor theme.

As for the spec, it is covered (mostly with symlinks).

Maybe it's because Inkscape is a bit messy (did you try compile this thing ).
But for serious maybe there is a way to cooperate with them OR swap current cursor icons?
