it is? even with respect to no-drop and not-allowed? (because oxygen mixes them up) |

I like these cursors quite a bit
http://wstaw.org/m/2014/03/17/zrzut99.png but the thumbs look a little off and squarish. Here's what I would prefer with the thumbs rounded somewhat. http://i.imgur.com/QKXGgzQ.png You can probably even do a better job than mine, but I liked them so much and then those square thumbs started bugging me so I had to change it. I also slightly adjusted the bottom right to make it one pixel less square and completed the shading on the inside bottom and thumb. I vote against the lines in the hands too (if thats still a question). Great job guys. |

Hrrm... Idea meet wall.
In order: Alt. Cursor, Cursor, Help, Working, Busy, Precision, Text, Handwriting, No Access, Vertical, Horozontal, Diag1, Diag2, Move, Pointer Re-drawn in inkscape, no gradients. Ripped the colours and general thin lines from a screenshot of what I'm assuming is the next oxygen. Retained the current shape of the default cursor since it feels like it wouldn't be KDE without it. Crit?

i really love the idea of a sharper-pointed, flatter oxygen, and your execution. your work gives a portal-y vibe
i have only one issue: due to antialiasing, diagonal lines look greyer than vertical and horizontal ones (especially noticable on the diagonal resize vs the vertical resize) /edit: and the pointer is a bit fat-fingered |

Contrast. There is not enough of contrast (well, unless you think that gray on gray is the best usability direction).
nope ;]
no-drop and not-allowed are seperated in the new cursor theme.
ok, no problem. Fixed. |

@Kver Well done, mate!
It will need real-world testing (just like the others will), but it seems to be a nice fit for the default plasma theme! |

they are in oxygen, too, but the wrong way around. it should be:
oxygen has no-drop: Ø and not-allowed: ⬉ø |

I think those look really nice! Still not sure about the tilted hand, since I'm used to a non-tilted hand. I would have to test it out to see how it feels like.

@Kver awesome but i'm also not sure about the tilted hand

@Kver great job! Maybe the tilted hand is too tilted. What about having it in the same angle as the arrow?

I think that we could truly judge this is we have usable theme, so we could try this. And honestly, I don't think it should be dark as hell to be usable. IMHO It's great job and I'm looking forward to use them! I also think it would be nice to combine them with legna's hand. What do you guys think? |

Yeah but pale gray border everywhere? No way… |

i don’t think it’s pale. those look very usable on everything but snowland camouflage. and anyone who uses that as desktop background surely doesn’t care about contrast. |

Agreed, I'll be completly honest; I loooove me my dark cursors so the white ones were a bit neglected. I'll give the white set some TLC and up the contrast, rework the outlines a bit. Some of the icons in that set are actually missing some outlines too, and I think when I fiddle with the lines on the directional cursors the contrast will be more pronounced if I can get it less fuzzy. The dark style is good enough in the contrast department though, I threw them over-top a few backgrounds and screenshots and they didn't make me strain despite my fuzzy eyesight.
Really.... Aside from the no-drop and not-allowed cursors, are there any others missing which I should add? I don't work with cursors so if I missed anything please point it out so I can include it in the next revision. EDIT: Just found a link to the freedesktop cursor specification.
I agree, I fought with the thin lines, including half-pixel offsets. I don't like them, even though they currently "fit", I'm also concerned about the clarity of ultra-thin lines being difficult to spot - especially on top of a theme where many icons with similar traits. I'll produce a few variants to see if I can minimise the effect, and I'll also add a a set with a 2px line thickness.
... Fat fingered?!?! It was modeled off my own glorious hand! In all seriousness, I'll produce a few variants on the hand, including some rotations and one that's pointed vertically. I'll wind up fiddling with the fingers on rotated versions anyway when I line them up for pixel-precision, so there will be some variation there which may alleive the sausage fingers. On another note: are there any simple tutorials anywhere on how to make these things into an installable icon package? I got the cursor plugin for Gimp and I've exported some of the animated cursors (busy & working), but I'm at a loss on what needs to be done after that. Also, anything special needed to make Wayland versions?
