Hi all, we would need a new icon for plasma-nm to represent the editor between the list of applications and the applet. Right now we use network-defaultroute icon in KDE 4, which is quite ugly and we don't have an icon for Plasma Next version. Is it possible to create one for us? I guess that this icon should be included in the new icon set for Plasma Next, so we don't need to install it separately. Thanks a lot.

All of the icons in the Plasma next theme were done before I started with the new icon theme, so they aren't done by the same person and have a different style. I can include them in say the status/ folder or on a separate folder but I'd need you (all the plasma developers developing the Plasma theme for Plasma next) to use the same icons for the plasma theme that the icon theme will provide, for the sake of consistency.

I agree that the icon style should eventually be the same everywhere. Perhaps if you include them in the status (or some other) folder then we can use them as a reference to gradually redo the icons in the plasma theme. Ideally, over time it would be nice if we could reduce redundancies between icons in the plasma theme and the system icon theme. |

I never understood why the plasma theme didn't used the same icons as the icon theme, I actually didn't noticed it did use the same icons before (pre-Air) until I read it on Wikipedia, but yes we can now change that, what Icons do i need to add?. |

I'm not sure that we all are talking about the same thing. I just need one icon, probably placed in apps folder and this icon will be used in the editor as application icon and also in the widgets browser as the icon for plasma-nm.

Just the icon to display the applet in the widget selection bar-thingy? (that would be indeed an icon in the folder applications/). |

Yes, exactly this one. |

Anyone working on it? I believe that plasma-nm deserves a better icon than this one

Is there any progress? I've already got a bug report [1] for that.

I've added it. By the way, at exactly what size is the icon for the widget in the panel?. It's supposedly 24 px but I did tried this size and the icon was absolutely showing signs of being pixelated. The icons in the system tray are 24 px as well but those do render correctly, a 1 px line in the SVG file results in a very clear and sharp image but on the network manager widget the icon is blurred. It seems to render it somewhere between 24 and 22 px. ![]() |

I don't understand what icon have you added? As I can see on your screenshot, you have changed icon in the system tray, which is not the one I need.

I've added the icon you asked for to the theme (the icon theme) in GitHub at the icon repository for the Breeze theme. You can grab it from there. As for the screenshot, I'm asking what size is the icon the widget uses for the panel because it's not 24 px and it looks pixelated as I just changed it for my theme. |

You didn't mention the link where I can find it. Is the icon set officialy part of Plasma 5? If not, I would have to pickup the icon and install it together with plasma-nm to be sure that the icon is always available.
Regarding the icon in system tray, you can take a look into plasma-framework/src/desktoptheme/breeze/icons/network.svgz, but I think the size is 24px. |

Here: https://github.com/NitruxSA/plasma-next-icons I did take a look at the source of the widget actually, and did find that the icon it uses is 24 px but like I said, If I draw several lines 1 px wide they all look pixelated. So the widget is using a 24 px image, yes, but it's not rendering it at 24 px. |
