Ok so this is the thing boys and girls. We need to make color schemes and especially a nice DARK color scheme.
I mean lets face it there are plenty of us who like dark color scheme so why not pop it up here and see what awesome things can come out? So what do you guys think? can we do a dark theme that include the spot colors already existing for the light theme (Plasma Blue etc)? ![]() Now Marco Martin has started working on a dark Plasma Theme which you can see an example of here... Now don't play to carefully - really lets test different ideas and concepts and see where we can reach together? ![]()

I love the optimal theme. It is very easy on the eyes while maintaining text readability.

Wonton Soup is the best (just for me, of course). But i can't find a good plasma theme for it.

Obsidian Coast (color scheme) + Caledonia (plasma theme) is the best combination I've ever used. I would really like to see similar combination for Plasma Next.

While it does make sense to ship color themes from the Plasma 4.X times with 5.X as well, we should still also come up with a new dark theme using the Plasma Next CI colors for the sake of visual identity.
Therefore using existing themes which work well as a starting point makes sense, but they still have to be tweaked to make them fit with the Plasma Next colors. |

I'm one of the Wonton Soup guys, basically to not get dazzled by a bright background. Martin's screenshot look nice but shows one issue that always comes up: light gray font on white background (line edit or the like) is hardly to read but fits well the dark background (e.g. captions on form). I think the basic color scheme should be kept for CI, that means light blue sliders are nice. But I dislike the deactivated (and transparent) thumb, how's about reducing the luminosity?
In general, omitting the rulers for small changes makes scrolling difficult (e.g. at scrollbars). But that's not related to the color set. |
