When I put two windows splitting the screen, the active window shadows the inactive one, and it looks awful Can we have a way to disable that?

I'd say it's a bit of both. I agree that the shadows should not fall on other windows if they are tiled like this, it doesn't make sense.

Yup, I find that ugly too. I'm not sure what the rule should be though, maybe if window borders are within snapping radius of each other no shadow is drawn or so?
