Came across Spritz today. Essentially a tool for speed reading text one word at a time. See website for demo: http://www.spritzinc.com/
Pretty nifty, eh? The official Spritz is all patent pending and tm'd up, and most definitely not open source from what I can see, but sure enough there are some o/s knock offs around: https://github.com/Miserlou/OpenSpritz So I was thinking this might be a nice little option for notifications? Maybe if you were to hold your mouse over, say, an email notification, it would spritz its way through the message? Just a thought anyway. |

I don't think this would work in the notifications. Mainly, because we would have to know when the user has focused the notification with their eyes. And if we start playing the sequence upon a button press we might as well display two complete lines of the notification IMHO.

For the short notifications I agree, I was thinking of the longer ones, with the mouse being hovered over as the trigger.
That being said though, as plasma is to target different form factors it might be nice for the smaller displays to condense even the short notifications into a smaller space. Just an idea though. |
