Sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing. This thread was meant as just as "heads up".
You posted a link to the list of applets, some of those are being ported, some not. It really depends on demand and who volunteers. They are all being ported by different people, and I can't speak on behalf of each developer. If you have ideas on the plasmoids that are being ported, like you do for the system monitor, you'll probably have to reach out to the developer in question. Guidelines will definitely be useful. Help applying the guidelines, even more so. |

Yes you're right, people just throwing all their ideas around is nice, but won't help us at this moment. Suggested plan of action: a) We write Plasmoid-specific (sections of) HIGs to guide consistent design b) We match up each Plasmoid maintainer with one designer to work with closely (that designer is always free to gather further input from the community, of course) [thanks to Andy for the idea!] I consciously used a) and b) instead of 1) and 2) because I don't think a) has to be finished before b) starts. We can extend the guidelines as we see useful patterns crop up from our designs. David: How could we approach the matching? Get all the Plasmoid maintainers in here to start a thread introducing their Plasmoid and then find someone willing to help design it? |

Like I said a months and months ago, we could really do with some sub-forums to better organise this group, otherwise we are going to end up with a number of different threads relating to plasmoids that are going to push the other stuff down, and it's a bit like google this forum; once it drops to the second page it's gone! |

In the tracking page: https://todo.kde.org/?controller=board& ... ec365b8f1c
there is an assigned maintainer on each plasmoid. |
