Ah yes colomar told me above about the restrictions.

Gradients isn't an issue. It can be easily sorted. Size is trickier... When you say 22x22 do you mean that it needs to be that and that only or that it needs to scale UP TO 22x22 so it needs to work in even smaller sizes?

Saw this today: http://www.emojione.com/

Realistically it's a better starting point. We can add customisations on top.
I'll try and get this into KEmoticons soonish.

Well I still think we should consider our own first and foremost. But I agree using those are the easiest route for now.

Yeah, what I meant was we can use emojione as fallbacks, which means we can start using the designs here immediately rather than having to wait until we complete the entire emoji set.

The Emoji One https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1642456/vdg/emotions/EmojiOne.zip icons for KDE/Plasma. The reference to emojione.com is missing, but will come.
When the "Problem" with 848 icons (find the right icon fast) will be solved I'll upload the icons on opendesktop.org. The theme can be used in kde 4 and plasma 5.

Questions:
- Does KEmoticons supports sections, because the Emoji One theme has 848 icons! to much to find some icons without sections.
- The Emoji One icons have a size of 64x64, I resized all icons to 22x22, because when I tested the Icons in KDE Telepathy (0.8.1 on KDE 4.13.3) the icons are shown in full size. Is it possible to use a fixed heigt, would be nicer for reading in text.

Emoji One
Emoji One (Breeze Colours)
A Breezed Emoji One icon pack would be a lot of work, with less benefit.

what do you think about this konqui emojis. Could be done for the "main" emotes icons

Currently?
No

Could it?
Sure.

Odd, the KEmoticon library (and in turn KDE Telepathy) have the HTML set with "width="22px" hardcoded, so that was meant to work. Clearly not though.

david_edmundson do you know how to sort the icons. because there are 800 icons from Emoji One and it doesn't make sense to put them all into one file. but we can use them so my proposal is to sort the icons via most wanted, but I don't know how can I sort them. It's not the filename and not the sort from the emoticons.xml file and not the name tag from the xml file. so can someone help me.

I'll make a "most wanted" and a full emotion pack with most wanted rating.

maybe the software could sort after the usage?

Thanks
