Plasma 5.1 is about to be released soon, and is in feature freeze according to the schedule. Does anyone know what work The VDG has done, and will be included in the release? Btw, thanks for all your great work.

Thank you for starting this thread because it reminded us that we should indeed collect the things we've done that will come out with 5.1, so here it is:
What the VDG has done or contributed to that will be in 5.1:
- Icons (added tons of icons to the Breeze theme, plus reworked the Systray
icons to match the general theme)
- Breeze widget theme
- Look & feel / Megathemes KCM
- Plasmoid alternatives switcher
- Klipper Plasmoid
- System load viewer Plasmoid
- HIG restructuring to improve usability (not exactly a Plasma feature, but
since Gnome promoted their new HIG with the 3.14 release...)
- Visual glitch fixes

What with "Breeze window decoration", because from what I see here https://todo.kde.org/?controller=board& ... oject_id=1 it is listed as "work in progress" for Plasma 5.1. From marketing point of view mix of new breeze widget theme and old oxygen window deco would be unfortunate. And for new promo http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/plasma-de ... 35902.html screenshots I advice to use breeze widget theme with breeze window deco (Aurorae theme)

According to David, it's currently targeted for 5.2, that's why I didn't mention it. I'm investigating...

According to David, it's currently targeted for 5.2, that's why I didn't mention it. I'm investigating...

As far as I know, sadly aurorae's breeze windeco has serious performances issues on some hardware (due to upstream).
Here at least, it works very nicely on my NVIDIA and fry my computer on an Intel.

So that I am not sure it is a good thing to advertise something that many use will actually not be able to use ...

Ok thanks for explanations. So what is the plan to show on promo screenshots? Breeze widget theme and oxygen window decoration?
