I've briefly tried this skin and to me it feels a little "bulky", in the sense that it's very large and takes up a lot of space (and at least to me, ends up being distracting). The original skin for Yakuake is much thinner and hence quite distraction-free.

The idea was to made a Breeze Theme which fitted into the overall theme, so the window decoration has the same size than the breeze window decoration. It's no problem to reduce space. Now I know how to design a skin and it is easy to make different styles. so I will also made a thinner one to. Ans of corse it is fun to made a new skin :) .

My current style looks like this and don't need the new implementation, but I'll will go further.

Great work! The only thing could confuse users is that we have two "X"-Buttons above each other: One to close a tab, one to close Yakuake.
Is the X to close the tab the "close tab" icon that is also used e.g. in Konsole?

Yes, it does that. In the original skin it's a "-" sign.

I really like it, even if it needs more space than the TabsOnly skin I used before. Sometimes consistency > minimalism, now Yakuake feels like the integral part of the system it should be.
The only thing I find a bit distracting are the blue lines on the left and right that don't let the terminal merge with the monitor at 100% width.

Since we're on the topic: Is there any way to have a borderless Yakuake? I'd like to just have a terminal drop down, with no window borders or anything...

There's the TabsOnly skin I mentioned, no borders, no controls, just a terminal with tabs http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/?content=146212.
Now that combined with Breeze tabs...

Thanks for the feedback,

I made also a thinner skin and I reduce the title bar to the focus, config and quit bottom. I made the new skin with YOUR help and I like the result. Thank you.

You can install the thin skin via GHNS (http://opendesktop.org/content/show.php ... ent=167531)

I don't reduce the title bar. I also use the Skin without title bar, but to be honest, I have to delete the settings folder from the home dic. because I can't change the theme without the config botton.

I will also update the standard skin soon.

Thanks so much for making this, it looks great!
One small problem - and I mean literally, 1px or so - the activated tabs description gets moved down a bit:

Not sure what's causing this as it looks fine in your screenshots.

Yeah that's not ideal. I have a shortcut set to ctrl+shift+y because TabsOnly doesn't have a config button either.
Shouldn't be bundled with Yakuake without a title bar of course, but if you have one lying around without it please upload it. I'm sure there are people like me who'll use it.

Great, easy to follow tutorial, nice work!
I went ahead and removed those plus and minus buttons too, works fine without them.
Still can't figure out what's causing the text to drop down, anyone else having that problem?

I can't reproduce it and as you can read in the blog post there is no setting for different text settings. what's the (root) maybe this is the bug?

Sorry, my bad.
Turns out it's a general behaviour with every skin and I somehow didn't notice before.
Will investigate if it's a bug, a feature or some settings to tweak.

The rest looks perfect now, really happy with what you have created!
