This is my first post so sorry in advance. I haven't been a user of kde since the 3.x cycle but I am pondering moving back.
I was wondering about how KDE plans to prompt the user for information pertaining to online accounts, access to webcams, microphones, contacts etc once application sandboxing comes into play. DWD brings the opportunity to more accurately represent what application is requesting personal information and thus allow users to make better judgments about where they are entering personal information. From a design perspective will DWD bring modality to the table - e.g when an email application requests access to a users email credentials can the widgets within the titlebar change to username, password and contents of the email application window change to a summary of what the application requires the information for. |

Hi,
first of all: Why would you have to be sorry for your first post? We're glad for every new contributor, and you don't have to be sorry if you don't know everything yet, it's completely fine! Now for your topic: There are two existing threads which are relevant here: First this one about how applications should ask for permissions in a usable and secure way (in that case for going full-screen) and then this one for entering credentials in a usable and secure way. I'd recommend that you read those threads and then suggest how DWD may help for solving the issues described there, that would certainly be helpful! For ideas that don't fit either of these threads, feel free to start a new one! |
