This one ain't bad, but the one from kven keeps the current logo. Both are perfectly valid and make sense, though (to me at least). |

the thing is that I like the icon from Kubuntiac to, but it doesn't fit to the breeze icon theme. there are well defined HIG's https://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usabi ... IconDesign and also kven have to make the kdenlive icon twice (or more than twice) because it doesn't fit the guidelines.
We have guidelines and at the icons all icons have to fulfill the guidelines to have an consistent look and feel. the icon from kubuntiac is nice but flat and breeze isn't a flat theme so it doesn't fit perfect. |

If you can be a bit more specific, I suspect that the places where it doesn't fit are likely to be fairly minor details. You mentioned it being flat (which is because I thought Breeze was moving that way), so I've gone over and added a gradient as the HIG suggests. I've also added a dropshadow as the HIG suggests. I'm sure there are still minor details out of place (not sure the shadows are exactly 45 degrees and need some other work that's only worth putting time into if people like the overall design), but if you can point out any major ways it doesn't fit the HIG, I'm more than happy to make appropriate modifications. Anyway, here's a draft with the gradient + shadow version: |

@vpinion Any thoughts or feedback? I've been keen to see my favourite FOSS editor get a more modern logo and to help the project for years.
