Hi,
I'm working on a new Bluetooth applet for next Plasma release (5.3).
It is currently being reviewed at https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/123164/ and I'd like to ask you for help.
If you want to test it, you need to build bluezqt branch of Bluedevil and BluezQt library (kde/workspace/bluez-qt).

I'm looking for these icons:
- generic bluetooth icon - this is already in breeze theme, but is used only with small sizes
- bluetooth connected icon - will be used as tray icon when there are connected devices (as seen on 2nd screenshot)
- browse files + send file icon - (2nd screenshot) browse files icon looks ok now, but it changes to "blue folder icon" (as in dolphin) with highdpi

Also, it would be great if all device icons were in the same monochrome style. This is list of all possible device icons:
"computer", "phone", "modem", "network-wireless", "camera-video", "input-gaming",
"input-keyboard", "input-tablet", "input-mouse", "printer", "camera-photo", "camera-video"
"audio-headset", "audio-headphones", "audio-card" (unspecified audio device),

If you have any comments on design/usability, please let me know either here or in the review.

Sure, breeze icons are just fine. Ideally, I would like to have a plasma theme icons for bluetooth (icons/bluetooth.svgz) so that those icons can be loaded with PlasmaCore.Svg.

It would contain:
- standard bluetooth icon
- bluetooth connected icon
- browse files icon
- send file icon

They can be already existing icons (current bluetooth and browse files icons are fine - but of course you can suggest better icon for browse files ).

I also mentioned that it would be great to have monochrome icons for various device types. These icons don't have to be in the plasma theme and can be loaded from standard icon theme with PlasmaCore.IconItem (as it is currently).

EDIT: Actually, there is an icon for activated bluetooth (preferences-system-bluetooth-activated). I somehow missed that ... In that case, only icons for browse files and send file remains to be improved / suggested different icons.

Since you also asked for feedback on the applet itself, here is a provocative idea:
Why not merge the Bluetooth applet with the Device Notifier? Why should users have to care about whether a device is connected via USB or available via Bluetooth? It looks to me like all functionality the Bluetooth Plasmoid has could be integrated in the Device Notifier.
What do you think?

I like this idea, I think it goes to simple idea that a new Device, wether USB or Bluetooth is connected.

about the missing icons:

Contributions from the community are welcome, but if nobody steps up, we can do the icons, though it may take a while.
