Hi,
I'm trying to sort out a new release of Kamoso under KF5/Qt5. Many things changed, as you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/rmsqvSy.png I'm posting this because we need some icons where we're still relying on Oxygen and make the application look a bit weird, namely the application icon, the shoot action (which re-uses the application icon) and the burst action icon (it has code-function now, which is weird). Can somebody give a hand there, pretty please? Thanks a lot! |

thanks for the request. Hope I got time after the plasma 5.3 release. there are still some important icons missing, so it would take a while.
Contributions from the community are welcome. there is a nice wiki page with the icon guidelines (https://github.com/NitruxSA/plasma-next-icons/wiki) |

For clarity the official icon design guidelines are in the HIG here: https://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usabi ... IconDesign

ok. let's go.
I'm thinking on something like this: Left: picture, animation and video icon Center: Record when nothing is selected, Pause icon when you record Right: list icon for show the saved records Effect icon to select an effects if you like Share icon for export to facebook, youtube, hard disk. Settings icon for the settings, help, .... I'm not realy happy with the center button because there is missing a focus for the button. |

Hi,
Sorry, I thought we were discussing icons. Anyway, this looks interesting. Have you taken a look to the new version then? Are you suggesting to move the pictures view to the right panel like we do with settings? I can give it a go if you think it's best. |

The icons are also included but as you know you have to think global.
No I don't have to install the new version now. Sorry maybe on evening. Marin Gräßlin had a forum thread about hidden features and in the 2.0.2 it looks like somethimes that features are mixed and hidden between icons. About the right panel. When I read heikos blog post about the system monitor he linked to or HIGs (https://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usabi ... _structure) and he is right we have HIGs so we don't think all the time about something new. In the simple command structure you have the main window and a context panel. So yes I think we can move last records, picture and video effects and the share function into the right panel. When you start the app the right panel would be hidden. The start screen This are only mockups. I will make your wanted icons. Most elements are in Kamoso so only the arrangement is different. |

Ok, I adapted the application on master to use the side-bar for all the actions.
There's some other concepts you introduced I shall look into as well, before the first release. |

we can also discuss you don't have to adopt everything
for the share button I would prefer something like https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/123342/ for ksnapshot (show last used options with a more button if you have more than 5 export functions, don't know) |

Well, having the most common could be useful. The model I've looked the most at is Android's so far. And over there it's definitely not consistent. I'll try to find a metric to try and show what's the most likely to be shown, but I have my doubts. The other problem is that we don't have a concept of "current picture". We want to be able to share any of the pictures, so the KSnapshot model doesn't really transfer. At least given the current design. |

I really like the mockups that @andreas_k posted, I think they would give Kamoso a good set of options and if some effects could be implemented Kamoso would become the best webcam application for taking selfies and doing some video blogs, which I find very important specially if we want to make KDE the best productive and complete desktop environment ever, awesome job guys.
