Hi!
I have some thoughts on current way of using systray icons / widgets. I've updated to Plasma 5.3 on Arch Linux and I like it very much . But I have sum „but …”. When there are some icons in tray visible all the time, and some are hidden and you access them through 'hidden icons' arrow, it's hard to switch between those. Current: When I see Bluetooth icon all the time and click it and then I want to access battery applet which is hidden in my case, I have to close the first one, click on 'hidden icons' arrow and then click battery icon. There is now simpler way of doing that. But maybe that could be a little better . So lets look at my proposition! Expected (by me): When I'm in Bluetooth and want to access battery, then I just switch to it by clicking on its icon listed on the lift (just like all hidden icons work now). Or I have to click on 'hidden icons' only once to open list of hidden icons. The reason that I'm putting this here is that I really don't know if that was desired way of using tray (so I should change visibility of icons accessed more frequently) or just nobody has problems like mine. |

I agree 100%!
In the past I've pointed out that if you've got the system tray open (you've clicked on a visible system tray icon) then in order to open the Show hidden icons pane you need to close the system tray first & that it would be more consistent if the Show hidden icons arrow behaved like any of the other system tray icons and just switched straight to the Show hidden icons pane. It seems to have been overlooked (it's not a big deal is it!) - maybe it's worth filing a bug report so that it'll get done at some point in the future? |
