Hi all,
at the moment Muon uses the non-Plasmified security-low/medium/high icons to denote availability of updates: I created a patch to make it use proper Breeze-style Plasma icons: However, I think these icons aren't particularly easy to grasp. The empty icon looks like a stuck busy indicator and also the "important updates" one doesn't really draw attention. This is why I would like to request new icons for those, perhaps in the shape of a shield and matching the FDO icon naming spec: "software-update" (there's no "no updates" in the spec but it supports fallback, so we use that as the default icon) "software-update-urgent" "software-update-available" For them to work with the Plasma theming mechanism, I need a SVG named "software.svgz" with three elements in them named as listed, which would then go into plasma-framework. Thanks! |

I agree that we need some better icons for this. I think it should be one shape for all 3 states with some different inner shape/color

I'm fine with those icons in general, as long as we have them in SVG form, following the Plasma theme (dark gray on dark panel is bad, which is what happens with the icons at the moment), perhaps matching the style of the other tray icons, and with a proper icon name describing their purpose.

Hi,
one moment kde:breeze has also icons-dark where you can find status/toolbar/security-high.svg for breeze dark and there you can find the right icon for an dark theme. do you use breeze dark (plasma theme, icons and color theme?) if you use plasma dark and breeze (light) icons you get this problem yes. therefore I start an thread on the plasma-dev mailing list (https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/plasma-d ... 43318.html) |

And that's why I'm requesting Plasma icons for the software updater… |
