Hi everyone!
We are developing a Debian-based Linux distribution called Tanglu, which has a Plasma desktop flavor.
Tanglu's goals are making use of new technology and creating a end-user-desktop centric Linux distribution which is close to Debian and upstream projects.

As part of being close to upstream, we so far did not change the design of the desktops much. At last Akademy, however, Jens Reuterberg explained to me that it is explicitly wanted to make use of Plasma's theming features to provide a look and feel that is unique to the distribution, and that I maybe should ask here if someone is interested in creating a new visual style or helping with it ;)

At Tanglu, we are developing some really neat technology under the surface, including tools to rebuild the whole Debian archive (like Ubuntu does) and lots of small QA tools, as well as some under-the-hood changes on the base system (which will likely later come to Debian as well). But we are definitively not too great at designing things, mainly because we have too few people looking at the looks of the distribution (as an example of not-so-great stuff we ship by default, take a look at our Calamares slideshow ^^). So far, some awesome people helped in creating great wallpapers and doing other design work.

I know this is a long shot, but in case there are some interested people here who would like to help refining the visual style of Tanglu KDE, help in any form would be incredibly awesome! In my mind, the ideal theme would not look radically different from the default Breeze design of Plasma 5, and follow the same patterns, but would maybe have slightly different colors and an adapted visual style.
But I am terrible at designing things, so I better step away from this ;-) - I can, however, help on getting things into Tanglu and doing technical work.

Thanks for reading the long post!
Cheers,
Matthias

Hi Matthias,

you have a big target.

Plasma offers to make look and feel packages for distribution specific designes so the user can switch with one click between the tanglu design and eo. breeze. Jeremy Whiting did a frew days ago an look and feel package for breeze dark (thanks) https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/124799/
