Dolphin interface suggestions

Sun Sep 27, 2015 8:13 am
I have to questions about the dolphin interface.
1) The is an issue where the tooltips over files say "Add tags" and "add comment" even though I cannot click on tooltips. Can that be fixed or changed? It is waiting for tag support to be implemented somewhere? If so, perhaps disable them till support is properly added?
2) If I open /home/hussam and press the "Find" button in the toolbar, it opens a search bar but the button itself doesn't get into a 'pressed' state. This is ok but it is nicer in terms of polish to put the button in a pressed stated while the search bar is open. This makes the product looks more polished since users like visual feedback. I have reported this one as a bug. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thank you.

There could be added a lot more. On the first glance it's weird to start with close (left-most button). Some time ago we drafted a guideline for search and filter. And it's the same there, close at the beginning. Shame on me ;-).

"Close" is "cancel" in this context, so the (top)left position is actually reasonable (back where you were) - also it's like this in every findbar across KDE.

One can also not unconditionally remove the close button as there's no guarantee for the toolbutton to be present/used (though this can be discrimnated by binding the button to a special slot that hides the close button before showing the widget - it would then be unconditionally re-shown (to the widget) when hiding the widget)
