overlay icons style

Wed Sep 30, 2015 12:19 pm
Hi,

I have one point where the different plasma and kde applications use different styles and I would like to discuss it with you.

digikam and gwenview

dolphin select via overlay and the mount emblem icons

As you see in the screenshots you have trouble with the contrast and it look always different.

I don't know an solution but I would like to have always the same look and feel. we can offer emblem icons for all overlay elements, but emblems are ordinary for show the status (mount, unmount, ...) and not for make an action (rotate, select, ...)

For icons that can trigger a action I would suggest to place a semi transparent area behind them.
something like http://www.google.com/design/spec/style ... ntegration - textprotection.
Only align them at the top or the bottom, not both. Don't put a border/box around the icons.

If you have more actions then icons fit inside the container, use something like a "more", "menu" icon to show a menu with more actions.
