Hi all,
I would like to know how to flag a bug as "VisualDesign" when I report it. Can it be done by the reporter (It seems not possible now) or does it need to be done by someone else? What is the suggested procedure to make the Visual Design group aware of the new bug? Should I comment on the bug report and ask the maintainer to flag it? Should I report it in this forum by opening a new topic? Thanks |

We have a VDG flag??
I'd say file the bug against the buggy product and CC "visual-design æt kde døt org" Hint: if the bug is like "the icon is violet but I think it should be purple", that's not a bug but a great way to run into a grumpy developer (Resolved: FIXED - "Use text only button...") If you want to challenge design, best use the forum first. |

I've seen a blog post where the VisualDesign group was introducing the "VisualDesign" flag in bugs.kde.org. (I can't find the blog post any more).
Here are the plasmashell bugs flagged "VisualDesign": https://goo.gl/ysFcWJ Regarding posting it to the forum first: I did post a long post regarding the Okular annotation system, but unfortunately I haven't received any response. Here is the original thread: viewtopic.php?f=285&t=128361 So as suggested by the Okular developer I've posted all those things one by one as new bugs (which I would like to flag as "VisualDesign" in order to make the VDG aware of them). Okular is a central piece of software of KDE and its annotation system needs a lot of love, and I think the VDG would be very helpful there. |

I didn't know I can add other people/groups to CC. That seems a good solution to warn the VDG of bugs concerning them. Thanks for the hint.

Ah, that's a custom flag added to the product (plasmashell, in this case) - it's not globally available (eg. kwin has flags to indicate different affected GPUs etcetc.)
