Will patterns be kept in KDE5?

Wed Mar 19, 2014 7:16 pm
I love the pattern background option in KDE4. It's similar to the one used in Windows before XP.
It's very convenient because you don't have to download the patterns per color.
Upon seeing the preview videos of KDE5, I saw that there's no pattern option. I'd like to have the patterns in KDE5, perhaps with a customization opportunity as with window decorations, etc.

I don't know the answer, but do note that the video seems to only show the "core" wallpaper plugins. Currently the pattern wallpaper plugin is in kdeplasma-addons, and I would expect Plasma Next to have something similar.

Yes, patterns will be kept in Plasma Next. but currently it is not ported to Qt5/QtQuick2. Current focus is porting core parts of desktop.
