I hope it's right place for such topic and i apologise if not.
I've been using Krita Desktop 2.8.3 for a few weeks now and I noticed few things worth changing. 1. Unsaving interface Status bar and hight of dockers aren't saving. I have to switch those things everytime I open Krita 2. Brush outline I use constant size of the brush mostly, but while sketching I need changing size for the crisp end of a stroke. That's when brush outline goes crazy and flickers with various different sizes. It's really distracting so I have to change brush outline for something more static (e.g. arrow). 3. Reference Images docker It's really minor issue but I found this docker quite usefull. Every time I want to apply reference to it, I have to browse throught folders to find one where I keep references all over again. Another problem is that when you anjusting zoom reference is geting back to default possition (top left corner) so you never know what's enough, which slows the process. 4. UI scale I'm working on a 15.6" monitor of my laptop so I really wish there would be more space for painting when not in full screen mode. Size of the left panel is understandable but I definitely don't need Color Selector or Layers list this wide. Whan it comes to adjusting painting there's hardly any space to see the results. That's how my workspace looks like: http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/244/4/6/2014_09_01_15_43_02_by_nivailis-d7xj4a6.jpg 5. JPG quality It's terrible tho I did everything I think I could. I have to save it as BMP and convert to JPG with Paint! 6. Massive slow down It's the worst of all and the only serious problem. Krita slows down the whole system drastically. I've been working with Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai previously and something like this never happened before. I hope you'll take my comment under consideration. ![]() |

1) Might be a bug on Windows. At least on Linux it restores everything here. Feel free to open a bug report. A workaround could be to use the workspaces to restore the dockers.
2) That can be changed in the settings where you can choose other cursor shapes. 3) Remembering reference images between sessions? Could be added I guess, although nobody is currently working on that. 4) We are at the minimum size for the layer docker. We can't shrink it down without cutting off some UI or reducing the font size. The compsite op names are too long. 5) So far nobody reported problem with that. Report a bug. 6) So slowdown compared Photoshop and Sai is expected. |

Hello
1) got the same on linux here it doesn't remember the status bar his hidden 3) about the zoom, it could also be great to use the same shortcuts for zoom and pan ![]() 5) it also scare me the first time i saved in jpeg but with the interface in french, maybe its a bad translation or the slider is inversed so to put the compression to 100 is like 0 compression... |
