If I try to use Ctrl + A (Select all) with text on a vector layer I get
"The key sequence 'Ctrl+A' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered" ![]() |

I don't believe this is going to be fixed for the 2.9 release. The text tool is pretty broken and is scheduled to be re-written for 3.1 (3.0 is only including a port to Qt5). I personally would rather have them take it out for 2.9 since it generates a lot of frustration (including for me). A few people actually use it right now, so removing it would make it impossible for them to do any text.
The developers are very aware of this tool not working correctly. I think you will have to use other programs do this for now (I inkscape). |

I use scribus for the text stuff myself. The shortcuts issue might be fixable, though -- it happens in more places and basically occurs because ctrl-a for select all-shapes, ctrl-a for select all pixels and ctrl-a for select all text are warring with each other.
I have to admit, though, that this has been a problem since... Well, 2006. |
