Hello,

I have the following problem with Krita 2.8 and latest available development build.

I import a photoshop PSD file.

That for example is:

Group 1:
"layer A" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 60%
Group 2:
"layer B" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 100%

In Krita is shown differently than Photoshop. (it is having different opacity)

On the other hand I made a test and moved both Layers to the same group and it is shown identically as in photoshop.

I can send the file if someone is interested.

Regards,

Please make a bug report at bugs.kde.org and attach your file or a (stable) download link. I'm actually right now working on the psd import/export code, so I can take a look.

Hi,
I am registering to the bug tacker and I will report it there. I found the root cause:

PSD file:

Group 1 Blend Mode: Pass Through.
"layer A" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 60%
“Group 2” Blend Mode: Pass Through
"layer B" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 100%

When the PSD file in imported in Krita,

Group 1 Blend Mode: Normal.
"layer A" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 60%
“Group 2” Blend Mode: Normal
"layer B" Blend Mode: Multiply . Opacity 100%

Note that the blend more is changed when it is imported in Krita, I don't know if Krita supports Pass Through Blend mode or an equivalent.

There is currently no passthrough in Krita.

Hi, Are there plans to implement it soon?

Well, I hope to be able to do that when working on supporting masks and layer styles, but I really have no idea how soon we can get this done. The pass-through composite op actually means a big change to our composition code.

I'm really looking forward to seeing pass through mode for layer groups in Krita also.

I just prefer to use groups as a way to organise layers, not override their blending modes.

Hi,

I have downloaded Krita 2.9 beta 2 version, and the issue still persists.

This feature will be resolved in the next version?

Thanks

Not for 2.9, and also not in 3.0 (which will be a pure port to the next generation platform libraries), but for 3.1, together with the layer styles and saving groups, yes, that's the intention.

Hi,

I have tested in Krita 2.9.4 and this feature is still missing. Is there an expected day to support that?

Thanks

It was already said that this feature would not come before 3.1.
Sadly 2.9.4 is before 3.1 in the usual software versions count.
