OS: Windows 8.1 pro on a Surface pro 3
Using Krita Version 2.9 Pre-Alpha (git 63888ac) Dev Platform 4.12.0 I am experience an Pen offset issue While my Ntrig pen accesses all menus and icons it is offset from where it draws on the paper. My previous version had no problem with my pen drawing where it touched the surface. |

It's in the bug tracker, which means it will be looked at as soon as a developer has time.
![]() Edit: add yourself to the cc of that bug, then when we have an update for it, you'll be mailed instantly! |

Which exact version did work for you (check the git string in the about box)? I guess it might be because I fixed an issue with the Yiynova tablet monitors, but that would mean that NTrig's wintab drivers actually have a bug.

Could this have something to do with Windows display scaling option?
I heard it happens sometimes at scaling different than 100% (I can't test it since I don't have a Surface Pro 3 yet I fear) |

Yes, that could very well be related. It would still point in the direction of a bug in the Wintab drivers, though. If I were a rich man... I'd get a Surface Pro 3 to test (and have fun sketching, it looks closest to a digital sketchbook that I've seen).

I fell in love with that machine, so much that I'm selling my Cintiq Companion to buy one! Krita works well even on the I3 model... Besides, any chance there would ever be a two fingers canvas rotate gesture in Krita? ![]() |

Hm... that should actually already work -- but maybe only in Krita Sketch.

Sadly nope.
![]() Wish there was an option to add a "gesture" command in Canvas Input Setting like there is for pan and zoom, but only two optios are available right now I fear. (which may even be for the better considering how easy it is right now to leave stray marks on the canvas when panning or zooming with two fingers, always wondered how other softwares were able to exclude painting with fingers on the canvas while keeping gestures!) |

Thank you boudewijn for your attention to this topic:
RE:Which exact version did work for you Krita_x64_2.8.3.0 had a pen that tracked correctly RE:It would still point in the direction of a bug in the Wintab drivers, That does not make sense because of all my programs work correctly with ( N-trig WinTab X64 v1.0.17): Manga Studio, Anime Studio, Sketchbook Pro 7, Corel Draw X7, Corel Pantshop Pro, and Inscape. (the strange part is that pen accesses all menus and icons on Krita correctly, just not drawing) RE: Hm... that should actually already work -- Page zooming, and panning works well on a Surface pro 3. But gesture Rotation has never worked on Krita. Just as a thought Manga Studio has a selection in Preferences/Tablet for you to select Wintab or Tablet PC. That fixed a gesture problem I had with Manga Studio. May thanks... Rob |

For the record: I just tried both 2.8.3 (installed) and the last 27/11 release (from zip) on my new i3 surface pro 3 with windows scaling at 125% and I dind't encounter any offset issue.
On another hand, I'm finding the performance of the latest alpha release to be quite poor compared to the good old stable 2.8.3. |

That's weird... I mean, no tablet code has changed at all... As for performance, was the previous build also slower for you? If not, it might be because of the multi-document interface. Once we go into feature freeze, I'll start doing some performance tuning in any case.

I can't say for certain since I don't have another previous build at hand, but I remember trying one on the Companion where the perspective transform had just been implemented and it was definitely slow, to the point I switched back to the trusty 2.8.3.
![]() Anyway, Krita seems to be behaving randomly different on different surface pro 3... On mine is normal, other guys have problems with the pen and that's strange considering hardware and software should almost be the same. |

@Azzart, the current windows development builds have portables builds(in zips), so you do not have to face the installing and uninstalling dance should you not wish to. It should be much easier to try out new builds. Krita has changed a lot since the perspective transform build

Yeah, last one I tried was the zip kind.
Don't know what happened but to me it seems it messes with the files of my stable installation anyway: first the ability to call my commonbrushes with right click disappeared on the portable and when I opened 2.8.3 it didn't work there too (I also have an empty Tools entry on the drop down menus next to Filter and a No Text one). It won't take much to get things back to notmal so I'm not worried but others might want to make a backup of their Krita AppData folders before trying it. ![]() |
