It seems that we cannot reset the canvas after rotationg it any longer :'( I really miss that shortcut, what happened to it?

There's a bug where the canvas is constantly out of focus and canvas input settings don't work then.
Hit the navigation bar before trying canvas input shortcuts like reset-rotation or pop-up palette.

No I mean like literally the setting isn't there, I can't even find it in the configure shortcuts menu.

Should be fixed in the 2.9 branch since yesterday -- I'll make new dev builds this weekend.

The only way to do this anymore is by using the numpad 5 shortcut. (Using the most recent Feb 8/2015 Win build) Doesn't it make sense to have 'Clear rotation' in the 'rotate' menus at least? It's the most obvious place for the command, even if there is no shortcut for it

Well, no... The rotate menu options rotate the image, not the canvas! We could add a reset somewhere in the view menu, but only after we release 2.9, because of translation issues.

For some reason this still hasn't been fixed... (I'm using the latest git build right now)

But thanks for mentioning that Druban; I can live again now!

And @boudewijn, back in I think build 2.7 (and some older than that, might have been in 2.8 though, I don't remember when it was removed) we had an option in the configure shortcuts menu to "reset canvas rotation" or something like that (it was bound to something ridiculous like (Shift + ') or something by default) and at some point in the 2.8 cycle when I originally posted this thread it just disappeared without a trace (poof)

But now I can see that Numpad 5 is doing the same thing (despite not being in the shortcuts menu at all) so I can live with that for now.

I'd really appreciate it if you guys could fix your keybind and mousebind shortcut menus, they've always been a total mess, sometimes keybinds are forgotten and whatnot.

In 2.9, shortcuts should no longer be forgotten, it's one of the things I spent quite a bit of time on. There are two places to configure shortcuts: settings/shortcuts and settings/configure krita/canvas input -- and tne rotation reset is in the latter.
