I have a feeling that some powerful features of Krita are unknown to quite some of users. Often I discover features which I had thought they didn't exist, just by browsing the large amount of shortcuts buried within the "Configure Shortcuts" dialog.

Someone know by chance if exist references on this matter?

Alternatively, I'd love if I could deepen my (poor) knowledge of Krita by writing down a short description of the single shortcuts.

Well, the shortcuts dialog has a built-in documentation feature: the print button will print a document with a full overview.

Hi, thank you.
I've printed all the shortcuts using the print button. Entries in the "Description" column are empty, in nearly every case.
I'm going to try writing down a short description for each one.
I'll let you know if I suceed...

Ok! If you've got that text, i'll try to figure out how to add it to the dialog!

@TheraHedwig,
Thank you

@boudewijn,
The base list is a plain .csv file
(If I knew how to upload it...)

Just attach it to a new bug report -- I know you know how to create bug reports :-)

One thing I do often when I start to use a program for the first time, is to peruse its hotkeys. Krita has many, you can read them by going to: (menu) > Settings > Configuration Shortcuts...

Some hotkeys (ie: "Ctrl + A") serve to perform a different action depending on context (ie: "select all" for text editing vs. "select all" referring to levels).

I thought a short description for each action could help me even more for a quick glance. So I've tried to test every single action in Krita in order to write down a short hint on what it does, in form of a tooltip text. I've found help by reading the Krita manual online and other references.

I was unable to reproduce the behavior of some of the actions listed, and I couldn't tell what purpose they serve. I know there could be also mistakes due in part to the fact I'm (relatively) new to Krita and in part to my english and my technical skills.

Anyway, here below I provide the link to a first draft: https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=90571

Feel free to download the file (it's a .csv file, you can open it with Calc). I would be happy if it could be of some help to you.

Hi! I've updated my list of shortcuts descriptions to a more recent version, Krita 2.9 Beta 2 git-fb929a8.
In this one there're only a few corrections and a pair of actions that had been added in the meanwhile. But I've thought that it was worth the update.
Previous .csv files are made obsolete by this one, just scroll down the page to download the .csv link.
