This is a screenshot from ClipStudio. I can fill with a pattern, scale it up or down and rotate it. That would be great in Krita too. I love the pattern tile function + pattern fill in Krita but it is a bit limited compared to the one in ClipStudio. |

For those trying to pay attention, clip studio is the same as manga-studio 5.
As for the tool. We have a pattern editing tool, but that only works on vector layers and can't rotate, because getting rotation to work properly is very very difficult.(we artists suggested pattern rotation last sprint, and we saw a very sad programmer face looking at us) |

You are right, MangaStudio = ClipStudio. The ClipStudio pattern tool works like this: make a selection. Drag the pattern into the selection. The program automaticly creates a layer mask to the new Pattern Fill Layer. It also shows the "transform layer" to make it possible to rezise and rotate the pattern layer. This is automated in ClipStudio. Layer masking is the trick. It is so easy to do in Photoshop and Painter. But I can not understand it in Krita. I have to study it. It is not like in any other software is seems? Or is it just me...? Thanks for commenting. |
