Hi,
I would like to suggest improvements in some tools and ui. I recorded some videos to give an idea of what can be improved. 1- Ruler Tool The rule is an excellent tool, but it should remain enabled, as in the sketchbook pro, so the use is more productive without having to constantly switch between the ruler and the brush. Here is how it works in krita: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KyB5sYudPQ And here is how it works in the sketchbook pro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kqa9OpDxso It could be the default behavior of the ruler or an option in "Tools Options" to keep the rule active: http://postimg.org/image/fues5mbwt/ The ruler could have a snap in angles too (30º, 45º, 60º, 90º, 180º). 2- Bezier Selection Tool and Bezier Curve Tool I think these tools would be more intuitive if they worked as the pen tool of Gimp, PS, Inkscape, ... and so on. After drawing a path the artist hit <enter> to turn into selection or choose to "Stroke Path". Gimp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yun4TIk9FA 3- Transform Tool Here is just a graphical improvement ... because the tool already works well. I noticed that in Krita the "anchor points" are transformed with the image. It would be nice if they were not distorted. Krita: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y39mRyLOK-k PS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AgwFWTW5ek 4- Docker - Reference Images This tool is really cool! I think what is missing in it is the option to zoom and pan the image using the same features of the canvas ( scroll wheel and middle click). Reference Images: http://postimg.org/image/dd6qqk1pb/ 5- Shortcuts Presets It would be nice to have some "shortcuts presets" in the "splash screen" of krita, as the blender 3d. New users could understand these presets as a cordial invitation to try krita. Splash screen: http://postimg.org/image/li9i4qrvh/ Well that's it! I do not want krita to become a photoshop or painter, I respect the view of developers. These are just some ideas that can improve this wonderful software. Thanks guys! (sorry my bad english )

I agree with most of these (especially #1, which should extend to the things like grid/perspective grid and similar), even though #3 seems like nitpicking to me.
I can't, however, agree with #2. IMO bezier curve/bezier selection tools are perfect now (except for small issue I've posted about and which seems to be according to other users a bug or regression) and merging it into one tool would make it less approachable for newbies. For example I didn't know about "stroke path" in GIMP for a long time and as such questioned usefulness of them in general - and I still can't figure out how to make closed path (last point links to first one). IMO they should stay as separate tools - newcomer will easily deduce that he can draw stuff using bezier spline tool and select using bezier select. But most of other points are spot on. |

Yes I agree! Merge the two tools can be confusing to new users. Maybe I need more practice with these tools. I would like to see a video with someone using these tools, maybe I'm doing it the wrong way.

I'll try to make some video later on. Now is almost 5AM in Poland and I *really* need to get some sleep.

Ok, Thanks! In Gimp to close a path finish with <ctrl+click> on the last point.
