animation suggestion

Sun Mar 22, 2015 2:37 pm
Good day. I'm new here (duh)
I only signed up to post this one time.
It's about the animation that will be implemented into
the next major release of krita.
If someone on de dev-team reads this:
please check this link http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/video/300/#play-1

it's a documentary called: "Inside Toei animation"
These people know what they're doing, obviously
I've animated a short 1:30 mins animation and i'll tell you
doing everything by yourself is hell. Specifically getting the line art to work
Just the line art to close properly and to shape it fast (because :no one wants
to spend hours and hours just drawing the same shapes again and again
erasing a line or using the pen tool to get the proper line)

please watch the functionality of the animation tools the demonstrator is using
That's fast, and good and in animation it let's you experience a fast and
productive workflow, so you can Animate and not just draw, draw erase killing
the motivation

thank you

Unfortunately, the animation feature we are looking to implement is raster animation. Not vector animation.

The reason is that there's very little raster animation packages, and Krita's strength is raster painting. This does not mean there won't be vector animation ever, but not in the coming year.

I recommend you try out Krita, as there's smoothing, stabilising and good geometry tools in our raster repotoire that may be what you are looking for.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've been experimenting w. krita and i think for which step i'm going to use it for animation in the future.
I won't say i'm not dissapointed, though. Krita is hands down the best WELL KNOWN graphics drawing program out there in terms of painting
(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ (I won't say i'm not dissapointed, though :D)

thanks again. :D
