One of the nice features of Photoshop Elements is Project Bin. To me it is a far more natural way of managing open graphical documents than simple tabs or visual tabs.

Why? the way it works is a you have a tray or panel at the bottom of the screen. This works similarly to minature thumbnail file browser, but only for open files. So you can scroll up and down and reorder if required. You can also drag the thumbnails into you current document, this creates a combined/merged version of the dragged document as layer.

Now I don't expect the team here at Krita to blindly copy every feature from a competitor.

However as with many of the additions if you were working on a comic in Krita it would be far easier to have documents for each panel and then the ability to quickly drag in the elements to the final document for overall layout.

Breaking down tasks in to smaller chunks is one of the benefits of the multi document approach. A Project Bin or something similar would enhance this.

This is a superior option to Photoshop C*'s solution of mini-bridge (just a fancy file browser, no tab management) and Paint.net's far simpiler visual tab system (not as easy to navigate or rearrange).

I think this feature has been largerly overlooked as it is associated with the junior version of Photoshop. It's something I sorely miss at work and would love in Krita.

Yes, this feature is under consideration. We call it the flipbook docker, but it's something that boudewijn(project lead) has been working on and off on, and hasn't had the time to finish
The main idea of the flipbook docker is that you determine that several images belong together and thus allow for easy access, such as the case of comics.

Edit: I like the drag and drop idea. Krita has the option to have images as 'file layers' which are kinda akin to photoshop smart objects but more straight forward(as we have smart transforms, or transformation masks availeble on all layer types, not just file layers.)
