Apologies if this has been asked before, but are there plans to provide realtime feedback when drawing out selections using masks rather than just updating at the end of the stroke?

Hm, I might misunderstand you, but if I draw on a mask, the result gets updated immediately, while drawing.

I must be doing something wrong then. My selection doesn't update until I complete the stroke. This is true whether I have the red global mask on or just the "marching ants". Is there a setting that governs this?

Well, I was actually painting on the mask after selecting it in the layerbox.

Thanks for verifying. I see that it is assigned a "Normal" value in the Bug index. Does that it mean that it will be getting addressed in the upcoming update? It seems like it could be a powerful feature but and would replace the more traditional path-based way of selecting out. However, as it is, it's very cumbersome.
Here's hoping this feature get's some TLC soon... |
