I love the new painting assistants in Krita!
I have seen that in the latest releases, after 2.9.4.6 or so, the previews are not moving while I am hovering over the image with the cursor, but move only while I am painting. Is this a requested feature or a bug? In either case, I cannot really say which is better for me. In previous versions the previews would move while hovering the cursor and thus provided a better feedback. The downside of that was that they could be a bit distracting. Now they stay in the last position until I start painting, which sometimes feels a bit "jumpy". Would it be possible to assign the visibility of the assistant previews to a modifier key? They would be visible only while the key is pressed. In addition there could be an option to activate the assistants as well as the previews, while the modifier is being pressed. Similar to the line tool behaviour. What do you think? Again, many thanks to Wolthera for this diamond! |

The preview feature is working for me on Win7. Be sure you have the "Show Assistant Previews" turned on in the View menu. Hope that helps...

It's a bug with opengl only updating the canvas when using a cursor outline and thus not showing the assistant previews. I don't know how to fix it yet.

Aha, I get it, switched on the outline and it works now.
Nevertheless, I think a modifier-type shortcut to activate the assistant snaping and the previews would be very practical. Thanks! |
