So I've been using Krita for my 2d graphics needs for a while and I am really enjoying it. If I'd be to pick top issue that slightly hampers my workflow that would be working on multiple layers. I've read you're working on those , but though I'd specify what are main obstacles I encounter.
First of all - merge with layer below and merge selected layers. IMO those should be merged (pun intended ) into a single command. If only one layer is selected it should merge with the layer below, if several those should be merged. At this point I think I'll try to look for ways to reassing ctrl+e shortcut to merge selected as it is something I use the most often (I really miss merge selected on the right click menu).Duplicate layer - it does not work if several layers are selected. I often have several layers that I use as templates - having to duplicate each one individually when needed is a pain. Layer styles copying/pasting - I know it is relatively new addition to Krita, but I'd love a quick option to copy and paste layer styles between layers. Grouping layers - would love to have a quick option to group layers. For example by selecting a couple of layers and hitting ctrl+g . That's it - well apart from text tools that can drive me nuts sometimes Krita has turned out to be a pure joy to work with. It's great it allows me to work in my favourite environment and with the layer manger options getting better I would not even think about other apps for a second . No surprise there's so much love to Krita on the forums I visit. Keep up great work!

Check https://phabricator.kde.org/T105 -- it's the kickstarter task for improving working with multiple layers.
