Hello,

In order to reproduce:

1. Create a new vector layer
2. Add e.g. a vector box with the rectangle tool
3. Choose transform tool
4. In the tool options choose perspective transform
5. Drag the handles of the transform frame to some e.g. strong vanishing point deformation
6. After hitting the apply button, the vector rectangle will transform only into a sheared box.
It won't be transformed according to the perspective frame.

I feel that the perspective transformation of a vector shape working as expected would be extremely beneficial for painting nice perspective shapes. This way the perspective shapes will have precise edges (transformation of pixel shapes will result in transformed and blurred edges).

Thank you all for this wonderful painting program!!!

Hi dan2xave. Not sure, but could this be the same issue of: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351862

Hi mvowada,
the issue you mentioned is somehow related, but in detail not the same. The bug you are referring to seems to happen when invoking a second transformation.

The odd behavior i like to describe already becomes apparent after the first transformation. It is best observable with rectangular shapes and is especially hard to see when using purely circular shapes. Here are links which i hope can clarify the issue:

Drawing a vector rectangle on a vector layer:

Doing the perspective transformation. Notice the bottom left corner of the rectangle stays at the original position:

After hitting the "Apply" button, the rectangle deforms. But now the buttom left corner has moved too, which in my opinion for this specific example transformatin should stay at the original position:

Let me point out again, that in my view this is an extremely important feature, since it will give you accurate edges for nice foreshortening effects with custom shapes.

(Edit post: The previous images were links to an image hosting service, which juxtaposed some annoying ads. I didn't know and i am very sorry for that!)
