Hi everybody,
I'd like to discuss an idea: It would be great to have a visual feedback every time the opacity changes, without having to glance at the slider and without it being distracting. So I thought about having a visual indication directly inside the cursor area, which will appear only when we change the opacity using the "I,O" shortcuts. On top of that, if we could have the active color show as well, that would be great. There is a very interesting discussion going on at phabricator, regarding a quick brush settings ui. The idea behind the feature I am suggesting is to get a feedback whenever the opacity changes, in the most minimalistic and non-distracting way possible. I made a simple mockup video to demonstrate what I have in mind. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6Preon2WYmSRlZ2NEJEZThmVFE What do you think about it? Is there something I missed, or some better way to do that? |

I like this idea a lot. Similar feedback would be useful with the shortcuts for lighter/darker, of course.

Totally second the idea, and having the cursor filled up like that is great (that's how PS does it too, works like a charm).

boud: Definitely, and perhaps it could respond to the new hue/saturation shortcuts as well.
gdquest, I didn't know that, is it in one of the new cc versions? I seldom use ps nowadays and Krita is to blame for that ![]() One more thing I would like to add, is that the color/opacity indicator shouldn't take into account the blending modes of the preset or the active layer. For the shake of clarity it would be best if it assumes a "normal" blending mode. |
