Duplicate Workspaces

Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:55 pm
I'm not sure if this is right place to put this, but here we go... So, currently how things are done in Krita is that if you create a workspace leaving the workspace name empty, it will create the workspace with the name "Workspace 1", "Workspace 2", etc. However, if you key in an input, say "bruceworkspace", you can create multiple workspaces with the same name.

However upon restart Krita will append the file names of the workspace resource files:

I will like to propose either one of three fixes, and I would take up the task of writing the patch, should it be agreed upon:
  1. Prevent the user from adding duplicate workspaces (photoshop will output an error message).
  2. Append the file name when there is a duplicate workspace, instead of having it happen on restart.
  3. Append a counter to the duplicate workspace, as how it is done when you leave it blank.

All of these options will not affect the existing duplicate workspaces.

Lemme hear your thoughts!
