Hi
What's the status of pan and zoom gesture support on Plasma5/Krita 3? Should they work up to date Neon and Krita 3.0.1.1? |

I don't see zoom options on Plasma 5 Touchpad Settings. Maybe it can work with touchscreen rather than touchpad, but I'm not sure.
Pan is possible to add but you need to edit the "Canvas Input Settings" file. I tried to add zoom to Ctrl + (ScrollUp, ScrollDown), but it is way too fast for any practical use. |

I was extremely vague. Sorry about that. I meant gestures on touch screens. Reading bug report comments and such gave me the impression that pan and zoom should work and "fingerpainting" was prevented, but its hard to tell if people are talking about Windows or Linux (or earlier version of Krita). What I have is: - Up to date KDE Neon (user version, not the dev version) - Krita 3.0.1.1 - Wacom Cintiq 27qhd Trying to use pinch to zoom gets me brush stroke dots and drag up/down with two fingers gets apparently interpreted as mouse wheel events. Is it just my tablet config that is messed up or is some part of the touch screen gesture stuff still work in progress? I'm okay with editing config files to try setting that have no gui. Are they documented somewhere? |

I can't tell about the progress on gesture support as I'm not a developer. Sorry if i gave you that impression.
On all three Linux touch drivers that i know (libinput, synaptics and wacom), the two finger scroll gestures are sent as mouse-scrollwheel (up, down ,left, right) Zoom works for me only with wacom driver, also the Pan with wacom driver is very slow. But i don't have a touchscreen, it's an Intuos PRO. Pan works well with libinput and synaptics, but i have no zoom support. Again, i don't have a touch screen. None of them worked well "out of the box" for me on Krita and that's why i edited the config file. I don't think there is any documentation on manual editing the "Canvas Input Settings" file, as it's supposed to be edited from Krita GUI. I edited it manually because Krita was not capturing mouse-scrollwhell events. It's not hard though. |

Finally figured out what was missing and got pan gesture working perfectly. Zoom gesture works also, but moves the canvas unintuitively.
In case someone ends up here while looking for help to get gestures working on multitouch supporting Wacom, the answer is here: http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ... Multitouch tl;td The gesture handling in wacom driver needs to be turned OFF so that X Sever can take care of it, while touch needs to be ON xsetwacom set "<wacom device name here> Finger touch" touch on xsetwacom set "<wacom device name here> Finger touch" Gesture off |
