Hello all,
Writing here because I received Boudewijn's email on kde-i18n-doc [0] and I have been working under KDE l10n Simplified Chinese Team for some time (though without SVN permission). I was shocked when I first heard of this problem. Our team is alive and active now. FYI: * We have our work coordinated using kde-china maillist. [1] * We use Freenode #kde-cn channel for chatting. * The Simplified Chinese l10n homepage is hosted on community.kde.org, with last edit time in Jan 2017. [2] * Till Jan 11 2017, no email about krita translation from senlinos has been found on kde-china maillist. [4] * Krita Simplified Chinese translation was last updated on Oct 2016. [3] We welcome every and all localization effort for Simplified Chinese from anyone. You are welcomed to join us and get into contact with us using email, IRC or any other communication method. Krita is a large project with some professional words that make it difficult to translate, so we really value your translation. If you want to get the translated .po file into SVN repository, please email it into kde-china maillist. Those who has SVN commit permission will review your work and push it in. Thank you for all your attention around Simplified Chinese localization work, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any question or suggestion. [0] https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-i18n-doc/ Unfortunately there seems no mail archive for kde-i18n-doc. Although the submission of the mail, but the responsible person to change some vocabulary.
Do not know if he is not using the software to drawing, I translated according to professional terms, Do not like to be changed. Krita add new features, I will follow up the translation, even if it can not be officially recognized by the Krita. |

Well, I cannot judge whether one translation is better than another -- it's over twenty years ago since I studied Chinese, and at that time, we were only taught traditional Chinese, but it should be possible to have a open discussion and make sure the best translation gets in?

I also accept some of the views, but some translation can not be changed. https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-china/2017-January/thread.html Can look at the mailing list My: Dockers = 浮动面板、Brush Tool = 画笔工具 Principal: Dockers = 停靠面板、Brush Tool = 笔刷工具 |

The translation (with few corrections) was integrated already. So most of the changes were accepted, if we are talking about two words, well, group work is also learn to accept the discussion and other people's decision.
If I understand from the translation provided by google translated, at least the translation of docker is shared and already used in other places.

Correction, my bad, sorry: the proposed translation has not been integrated yet. This does not change the fact that the stopping the contribution for few words were there is no consensus is the worst decision for all the parties involved.

My translation is correct.
Because the "panel" does "float" on the "Edit area". ![]() Photoshop is also called:浮动面板 Can search:photoshop 浮动面板 Brush tool also called:画笔工具 Can search:photoshop 画笔工具 It is recognized. |

Translations does not need to be *exactly* like the ones in Photoshop, especially if another translation is used already in other programs (which seems to be the case for dock).

Re:tosky
Do not press the PS name, Is also such a translation. Because even placed in the "dock" ,panel is also "floating". The "panel" does "float" on the "Edit area". 浮动面板 = Floating panel Dockers 的意思是“码头工人” These workers are generally working on the springboard, they are also "floating", the English is very vivid in the description. So it's a "floating panel". Dockers = Floating panel = 浮动面板 Layer blend mode: "Screen", Screen Literal translation: "屏幕", PS Chinese translation: “滤色”, The public is also called: “滤色”, If the translation of the public unfamiliar words, to Krita users can not find the option. I translated the principle is that the software used with the general public the same words, the translation of the option function is simple and clear. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know who is translating simplified Chinese now, It has been translated into wrong translation! (I don't translated anymore, quit long ago. and my translation is not valued.) The first purpose I started translating was the layer's correct simplified chinese. In the 1 floor you can see the translation in the picture. ------------------------------ Layer name: Normal=正常 ; X Current translation: 中(Middle) Darken=变暗 ; X Current translation: 模糊(Blur) Burn=加深 ; X Current translation: 刻录(Burn、record) Menu bar: Image=图像 ; X Current translation: 映像 ------------------------------ On the surface only saw these. |

![]() No longer angry with those wrong translations. DIY! Using AppImageExtract to decompress Krita.appImage. Folder: krita-3.3.2-x86_64.appimage.AppDir/usr/share/krita/locale/zh_CN/LC_MESSAGES Put own krita.mo into the folder. You can repackage it with AppImageAssistant. Change the size of the panel font: --Folder: ~/.config --Find kritarc --add this entry (Values can be changed arbitrarily): [GUI] palettefontsize=10 |

As a designer and a translator, I couldn't agree more that the terms should be translated in a professional way than literal. "停靠面板" soulds awkward to us. "笔刷工具" is acceptable but it's not as beautiful as the "画笔工具". You did a great job. ![]() Compliment from ACE CHINESE TRANSLATION team. |
