Hi guys !
I know the animation button is named "play/pause", but it actually behaves like a "play/stop" button : the playhead starts again from the beginning of the timeline when hitting play.

I suggest that the default behaviour of the button would be to play from where the playhead is.
Maybe there could be a combination (eg. SHIFT + click on the button) to force playing back from the beginning - the icon switch when hovered, too.

Thanks !

Hi,
Actually, if you look at the button icons, it is a play/stop button.. Since it is also what it does, it should be renamed to play/stop.

Then we could maybe have an alternate shortcut to play from current frame... But what we really need is a "quick play" feature to play only a certain amount of frames around selected frame. I thought I posted a feature request for this on phabricator or the bug tracker but I can't find it anymore...

You can select a bunch of frames by SHIFT+dragging on the top of the timeline (where frame numbers are)

Yes the tooltip also should be changed.

Of course I know about the selection of frames (you can also select by dragging inside the timeline from a place with no frame), but that's less convenient than a real quick-flip feature that could do that automatically.
