Hi, I'm not really sure if its the right place or even if its a bug, but I've noticed after updating to version 3.3.1 (Appimage) that David Revoy's Charcoal pencil brushes stopped working correctly. I think the brush engine might got updated or altered somehow from version 3.3.0 to 3.3.1.
![]() ![]() Using Linux Mint 18.2 x64 (kernel 4.11.0-14) + Wacom Intuos 5 L *no package installs, just Appimages. I've already saw one comment at his page about this specific issue. I'm wondering if someone else could tryout these brushes in version 3.3.1 too. http://www.davidrevoy.com/article326/krita-brushes-charcoal-pencils Thanks! Cheers!

Most if not all brushes with a pattern texture are acting like this in 3.3.1
Although probably already fixed. look: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/alvinhochun/krita/build/0.1.1.461 |

Still haven't tested all my other brushes yet, doing too much pixel art job lately.
Let's just wait and hope it's fixed on the next build.

We spotted the problem pretty quickly after the last release went out. The new krita version has a couple new properties under Texture: Brightness and Contrast. They aren't being defaulted to the correct values since they are new, so it appears the texture has disappeared. We already have a fix, so it will be in the next bug fix release we do.
For a short term work-around, you can go in the Texture area of the brush editor and play with those. That should bring the texture back. |

Specifically for those brushes, just selecting the Pattern option under the Texture area did the trick. I also overwritten the preset as if it were a 3.3.1 version... now it works flawlessly. Thanks for the help! ![]()
