Blending options

Wed Dec 20, 2017 8:00 pm
Hi!
Krita is a great product, but I want to ask about "Blending options" menu.
I had read krita's roadmap and tried new 4.0 version, but didn't find any mention about this item.
Very needed "Blend it" function like in Photoshop.
This function will be planned to released?

Blending is already available in Krita (probably from the beginning, not sure, but for a long time already :) ), not only on the brushes but also on the layers, and they can work independently, they are right on the toolbar and on the top of the layer docker, just click on the button that says "normal" and will show you the myriad of options in a drop down menu. You can also assign shortcuts to them.

This is what is called "blending modes", unless you mean something different, if so, please explain in detail. :)

No, I mean other option.
Right Click on the layer > Layer Styles > Blending Options (Blend If)
As stated that option is not implemented yet

I guess would be great to add fast gamma correction for preview images as like in Foundry Nuke. It will help to colour correct and find white/black point.

Ah. the layer styles blending option. I hope we'll find time to finish up those loose ends next year.

Hello, I was looking for this (I need colors without any black in CYMK for printing) and I was sad to see it’s not implemented yet. Any news ?

No, there hasn't been any movement here. However, I recommend you'd take a look at the color-to-alpha filter and the cross-channel curves filter, as these are able to select colors and select color ranges and make them transparent, and both are compatible with the cmyk model.

Thanks a lot for your quick answer. I will take a look at this.
